Spymaster

If you are in the twittersphere and you haven’t heard of SpyMaster, then you must be off-planet.

I joined MI6 as a noob and have gathered intelligence, pressured mob bosses, killed ambassadors, forged passports and stolen military secrets on my way to becoming a 14 spymaster. See, here’s the proof:

SpyMaster

I’ve come across one level 22 spymaster, and two level 21s. So I feel as if I’m making some good progress. It’s a low stress game that I can even do on short, five minute breaks at work.

It’s free and got me hooked the first day I played it. I have noticed that there are fewer people playing it — either that or they’ve turned off their tweets. You see, the more you have your notifications send information about your game play (it can be done automatically via their notification system), the more “money” you make on tasks.

I like it. Am enjoying it. And am positively addicted to it. Off I go to see if I have enough energy to kill someone….

Star Date 2009.05.07 7:00pm Austin, TX

And I saw it. All of it (well, except for the 30 seconds I spend in the bathroom half way through it — and let me say, there is no good place to take a bathroom break during this movie).

There were trekies there. And really creepie trekies there (you know the kind: older, over-weight trekies donning outfits that belong on people 40-80 lbs lighter than they are). But it was cool.

The movie was great. If you love Star Trek, you will like the movie. If you like Star Trek, you will like the movie. If you don’t like Star Trek, then I don’t know why I’m even talking to you. Just see the movie.

I saw it at The Alamo Draft House — you know, the only movie house I know where you can get real food and alcohol in the theater. Ok, so we had a few pints (4) before the movie, what of it? Just because you can’t go there doesn’t mean you can’t see this movie. I liked it and will most likely see it again before it’s out of theaters. Will I buy the DVD? Hell yeah! And in BlueRay too.

Star Trek in Austin, Texas

Ok, so the cat’s out of the bag: Dark Lord Darth Nepharia is a Trekkie. What can I say?

Well, last week (U.S. CST in North America, Planet Earth), was the world premier of the new Star Trek movie. What is that you say? “But the release date is actually on May 8th!” So true.

However, it’s already been shown in Australia, as of this writing. But the *real* world premier was held here in Austin at the Alamo Draft House theater to an audience that thought they were actually there to see a completely revamped copy of “Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan.”

Hell, seeing WOK on theaters again would be an awesome enough event, in and of itself. But how much cooler to see the new Star Trek movie instead? Go to the Alamo Draft House Theater’s blog to read all about it (and even see video clips of the even — sorry no movie footage).

Ok, and did I say Leonard Nimoy showed up? No? Well, go read/view all about it.

Geek Guy’s Fantasy

I stole this from SQT’s blog (and she took it from YouTube), but it was too good not to share.

Good-Bye AMR4

Came in last place on the Amazing Mutant Race 4 last week and have decided to stay on Earth a bit and visit some of the sites on the planet. Since I was given one of the most obnoxious mutants, I must say that I need a vacation. So I decided my first stop is going to be the beach, with lots of sun and water and cheap alchohol. So here I am, writing from the free wireless at Cancun, Mexico. Don’t know how they get that wireless on these private beaches.

Only thing missing is someone to rub on the sunscreen. I might have to summon Iomel here to do that for me.

100th POST! Whoohoo!

Wow. I’ve only been writing on this blog for 3.5 years and I’m finally making it to my 100th post. It was a long time in coming. Not as prolific as other writers on the net (read: Jean-Luc Picard), but I feel I’ve actually hit a milestone in my blog.

Not been writing as much on this blog as I had been. I was working on the Amazing Mutant Race but got voted off last week (Drat! — was actually having fun there, but time just didn’t always permit a proper entry :( ).

Perhaps I will come back and write some more fiction. Or maybe I’ll just spend more time on my main site (http://www.nepharia.com); haven’t made up my mind yet.

New Gadgets

I’m trying to get information on people’s favorite tech tool. Respond to this entry with your favorite tech gadget, software, or website you just can’t live without.

Also, don’t miss another exciting episode of the Amazing Mutant Race 4 — believe it or not, I’m still in the running.
